Downtown Chicago.
Encompassed as follows.
The WEST sim border will be SOUTH WACKER DRIVE
The NORTH sim border will be WASHINGTON STREET
The EAST sim border will be STATE STREET
The SOUTH sim border will be JACKSON STREET
It is to be gridded out 6x6 sections.
The feature buildings will include the Sears tower in the southwestern corner, looming over the entire sim, and poised to loom over SEVERAL sims later on.
Other structures will include Chase Tower, Bank of Chicago, Hyatt Center, Chicago General Medical Centre,
Older structures will be included, such as Chase LaSalle... Hotel Chicago...
At street level it will be post-modern Chicago, complete with the street lighting, lobbies and unique street signs.
Last but not least and my favorite Chicago structure, Inland Steel Building. It is the ONLY building that looks like a 20 story supermax prison, with structural steel worn on the outside, and primary building functions, as well as elevators relegated to an attached tower.
All this said, I have been to Chicago several times, I am VERY familiar and will pay as much tribute to it as I can in the eventual build, slated to begin in October. |

| So the sim will be based on Chicago, but will have a storyline that will allow many different races and such? |

| So I guess we'll have to tamp down on vehicles, if they so much as stop on the street for more than five seconds we take a chunk of currency out of them. |

| Teron is right, there are alot of dark urban sims, some good, and some... really really really bad. I don't think I need to name the worst one. Or was there going to be some kind of supertwist? |

| I'd like a city designed to be hyper-efficient. IE, a couple one-lane service roads, but mostly made for walking, vertically built, w/ elevators, lifts, jetpacks, etc. Up to abut 512m, w/ alot of underground tunnel and bunker fun! |

| Can you share it Grey? I'd love to hear what the twist is, seeing as I'm an RP buff. |

ok, right now, the idea i have in mind is this particular location coupled with millennium park.
what happened was i watched Irobot with will smith on tv the other night, saw the cityscape and realized THAT is the route i wanna go. Technology and Mythology colliding, doesn't that seem like a pretty unique idea? And yes sure, it might at first seem new delphi hit the idea first, but thats neo-tokyo like, this is post modern with a technological appendage.
Essentially I am going to open the feature sim first, then millennium park.
The setting I'm looking at is 2021, censorship, lack of personal freedoms, automation, robots doing the trash service, police service, government regulating television and everything else, housing being modular, really taking a very post modern downtown chicago and giving you a very eerie feeling to it. but dark? nah, unless you peel the skin off. |

there is an alternative...more like the reality of 10 years of surface warfare.
sure all the landmarks are they, teh sears tower is in pieces, it's fell over on top of the cityscape, crushing smaller buildings...the streets are just trash and bullet riddled walls. people are desperate, there is no water, lake michigan is polluted, government rule done with an iron fist, sorta babylon a.d. if you get my drift...so many routes to go... |
